Discerning God's Purpose in Creation & Relationships

I am thankful to God for the sessions we have had up to this point. I have learned so much and better understand my fellowship with the Father. I am always amazed at how He speaks when you develop a sensitivity to His voice.
Now that He is pleased with our understanding of Mark 8:34-37, His instruction for this journey is to share a Word that I instantly became passionate about… a word that is the epitome of who He is, and who we are to become through Him.
Now that I have chosen to follow Him, what’s next?
Let’s be guided by 1 John 4: 16-18:
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
If many of us were, to be honest, we would agree that we love God the way we love people.
We have expectations of God, as we do with the people we encounter or are in a relationship with (not limited to intimate).
We are disappointed when things don’t go our way, and we blame God, just like we blame and point fingers at people.
We equate going to church, reading our Bible, praying, and even witnessing as a show of love for God, even though many of us exercise those moments with an agenda. We believe such acts demonstrate our love for Him.
God even now is saying to me (and I can’t speak for anyone else), How can you please me, if you really don’t know who I am?
A legitimate question.
So, God is teaching me who He is by teaching me what He purposes in His heart to produce through me.
Let’s begin by establishing Him as our FIRST love.
To do this, we MUST look at the VERY FIRST relationship as our example, God and Adam…before He made woman.
Genesis 2:19-20:
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
This is the point of reference we are to consider, though it may be hard to digest.
What we are missing is the fact that nowhere in scripture does it say or suggest God created woman because Adam was lonely, though we often hear it preached. In Genesis 2: 18, the word says:
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet (Hebrew words Ezer and Kenegdo meaning: a helper suited to, worthy of, corresponding to him) for him.
There is a very distinct difference between one being alone and being lonely.
Alone, in this context means Adam was the only one of his KIND.
Lonely is birthed through experience. Adam could not express an emotion he had never experienced. Lonely was not a reality for Adam. He could not relate to being separated from something or someone that had not come into existence.
Think about what a pure fellowship is like.
God, His creatures, and His creation; the beginning of a purpose that was crafted before the foundations of the world. His creation, Adam was able to communicate with (relate to) all that God created; That was brought to him by God, and that ADAM NAMED (Re-read Genesis 2:19-20). Consider there was NO VOID in Adam because he was created into the provision of God and given the responsibility to SERVE creation.
Don’t worry. You will see God’s heart in creation, and how He desires His children to discern and understand His purpose in creation and in our relationships… according to the scriptures.
Read Genesis 1:29-31; Genesis 2:15.
Until the next time the breadcrumbs fall from the Master’s table…
